Key responsibilities also include ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations, maintaining patient confidentiality, and actively participating in infection prevention measures. The successful candidate must be a member of the British Society of Echocardiography and hold current Adult Proficiency while being registered with RCCP. Experience in a range of cardiac procedures and contributions to research will be advantageous.
We are recruiting a BSE accredited (or equivalent) physiologist, working independently in all areas of echocardiography, to join our consultant-lead team in a community based cardiac assessment clinic.
KEY PURPOSE OF ROLE
To ensure the provision of a quality echo service
To take specific responsibility for the development of a one-stop echo service for patients attending cardiology appointments in the community setting
To provide teaching and support to other members of the team learning echocardiography
To work co-operatively and collaboratively with members of other professions and disciplines, ensuring the provision of a progressive learning environment for all staff
To contribute to the professional leadership of the technical staff within the service
EDUCATIONAL / PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
STP / BSc Clinical Physiology or equivalent
Relevant experience at Band 6 level
Evidence of on-going professional development
SCST
RCP DESIRABLE
ILS / ALS
GCP
BSE
Evidence of Masters levels study
EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE ESSENTIAL
Experience in a broad range of cardiac physiological procedures such as ECG, ETT and echocardiography
DESIRABLE
Experience in research

Using the correct 7 step hand hygiene technique
Being bare below the elbows when in a clinical environment
Wearing the correct Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Ensuring correct handling and disposal of waste (including sharps) and laundry
Ensuring all medical devices (equipment) are decontaminated appropriately i.e., cleaned, disinfected and/or sterilised
