The Infection Prevention and Control Specialist Nurse at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King's Lynn NHSFT will oversee the daily operations of the Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Team, ensuring compliance with IPC policies to minimize healthcare-acquired infections. The role involves providing guidance, education, and advice to staff, participating in surveillance programs, auditing IPC practices, and actively engaging in the development and implementation of the IPC strategy in collaboration with various stakeholders.

In addition to managing team members and offering clinical leadership, the postholder will conduct complex risk assessments, interpret laboratory results, and monitor hazardous practices. This position requires autonomy within the healthcare team and includes responsibilities such as investigating and controlling infection outbreaks and maintaining accurate records to enhance overall IPC standards.
