The Domestic Assistant - Community role at West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust in Newmarket involves providing essential cleaning services in line with NHS cleanliness standards and Trust policies. The position is available for specific evening shifts (6:30 pm to 10 pm and 6:00 pm to 10 pm) and entails assisting Domestic Supervisors and Facilities Officers in maintaining high cleaning standards within a community hospital setting. Key responsibilities include completing scheduled cleaning tasks, ensuring the safe use of equipment and cleaning materials, engaging with patients and staff to provide excellent customer care, and adhering to health and safety regulations.

Additionally, the Domestic Assistant is expected to demonstrate a flexible approach to meet the needs of patients and staff, maintain cleanliness in storage areas and equipment, attend mandatory training sessions, and complete relevant checklists. Knowledge of the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) is crucial for the role, along with the ability to work collaboratively in a healthcare environment to ensure infection control and service quality.
