We are looking for an experienced Receptionist who is looking to develop into the next stage of their career. The successful person will support the Reception Manager in leading and managing an efficient and friendly team of Receptionists.
Job responsibilities:
Working within the reception team
Day-to-day supervision of the reception team
Covering Reception Manager duties when needed
Maintaining and monitoring the practice appointment system
Process personal, telephone and e-requests for appointments
Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request appropriately
Signpost patients to the correct service
Assist the Reception Manager with the rota's for the team
Identify and ensure delivery of team training where agreed with reception and practice management.
Continually assess and evaluate systems recommending changes and improvements to the Reception Manager as appropriate.
Encourage and support personal development of members of the reception, maintaining self and team professionalism.
Keep the team informed of any matters arising as necessary, or as requested by other members of the Practice team.

Other Tasks
- Clear rooms after surgeries
- Ensure building security have thorough knowledge of doors/windows/alarm.
- Any other tasks allocated by managers

- Using personal security systems within the workplace according to practice guidelines
- Identifying the risks involved in work activities and undertaking such activities in a way that manages those risks
- Making effective use of training to update knowledge and skills
- Using appropriate infection control procedures, maintaining work areas in a tidy and safe way and free from hazards
- Actively reporting of health and safety hazards and infection hazards immediately when recognised
- Keeping own work areas and general / patient areas generally clean, assisting in the maintenance of general standards of cleanliness consistent with the scope of the job holders role
- Undertaking periodic infection control training (minimum annually)
- Reporting potential risks identified
