Band 3: £24,071 to £25,674 a year per annum  PERMANENT  GOOD SALARY 

Staff will be expected to participate in the departmental rota.

EPA Microbiology is the only Microbiology laboratory in the county! We provide clinical diagnostic services across Norfolk including 3 separate Trusts. This busy, exciting and essential service is run by an efficient and closely knit team, and the laboratory is very focused on staff wellbeing and teamwork. We would love to get someone recruited who will integrate well into this dynamic, with previous lab experience to help you hit the ground running and also contribute to improving the service.

Staff will be expected to participate in the departmental rota. We work Monday to Friday on 3 shifts - early (8am-4pm) core (9am-5pm) and late (12pm-8pm), and on 8am-4pm on Saturdays and Sundays and Bank Holidays.

Performing routine laboratory procedures in all areas of the Bacteriology Laboratory according to laboratory policies and Standard Operating.

Procedures under supervision of qualified Biomedical Scientist staff.

Working across all areas of the laboratory to prepare and process clinical material for testing, run automated analysers, participate in quality improvement and train other staff.

Complete ongoing service training including CPD.

Work with other team members to plan workload and achieve collective goals.

1. To prepare and process all types of clinical material for microscopy and culture (except those processed at Containment Level 3).

2. Labelling and preparing patients blood, urine and other fluids for analysis utilising aseptic techniques.

3. To prepare samples for Mycology microscopy and culture.

4. To prepare samples for testing and to assist the Biomedical Scientists.
