The ACC Lead Coder position at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust (UHP) offers a remote opportunity for qualified and experienced clinical coders to join a busy Clinical Coding Department. The role requires expertise in ICD 10 and OPCS4 classifications to accurately code inpatient and day case episodes while ensuring compliance with trust deadlines and national guidelines. Responsibilities include mentoring junior staff, engaging in validation meetings with clinicians, and supporting the Clinical Coding Service Manager in maintaining high-quality coding standards.

The UHP Clinical Coding Department handles approximately 143,000 episodes annually and seeks a motivated individual who can contribute positively to the coding services amidst the ongoing implementation of an Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system. Applicants with relevant experience, particularly those from within the Trust or those designated as 'At Risk', are preferred. The position emphasises the importance of training, communication with various stakeholders, and maintaining professional development in line with evolving coding practices and regulations.
