The position is structured as a rotational post, with each rotation lasting one year and covering areas such as preschool special needs, primary and secondary schools, and acute pediatric inpatient services. Additionally, the physiotherapist will have supervisory responsibilities for band 5 physiotherapists, assistants, and volunteers, and must effectively communicate complex patient information while adhering to confidentiality and data protection standards. We are seeking an enthusiastic Physiotherapist to join our Paediatric rotational scheme in the following areas ofservices:
Acute/MSK, Pre-school Special Needs & Special Schools, Schools Services (mainstream and special schools)
This post is within the Paediatric Physiotherapy team. This is an experienced rotational post, providing specialist physiotherapy to children and young people (CYP) in a variety of settings.
These rotations are preschool special needs/primary special school, mainstream schools/ secondary specialschools and acute paediatric inpatients and Musculoskeletal (MSK) outpatients. Each rotation is one-year duration.

The post holder will be an autonomous practitioner providing a specialist physiotherapy service to a designated caseload of children with a range of physical and mobility difficulties and Special Educational Needs (SEN) within the specified rotation.

A significant proportion of these children will have English as an additional language (EAL).

He/she will be expected to manage their own caseload, travelling between community and acute settings and working alongside teaching, medical and nursing staff to ensure specialist therapy programmes and educational plans are in place for children under their care.

He/she will be expected to work collaboratively with CYP, parents/carers and colleagues in Health, Education and Social Services in planning and delivery of services.

Providing specialist Physiotherapy services children and young people with a variety of conditions within Harrow both in the community and acute settings

Providing specialist advice, programmes and treatment plans to others regarding the management and care of CYP with physical difficulties

To provide supervision of the work of band 5 physiotherapists, assistants and volunteers regularly on a day to day basis

1. To communicate complex patient related information effectively ensuring collaborativeworking with multidisciplinary team members across health, education, social servicesand the voluntary sector. Dependent on the rotation to work in particular with teachingstaff, nursery staff or medical/ nursing staff to ensure the delivery of a well-co-ordinatedcare/individual education plans/programmes, facilitating the development of physicalskills.
2. To work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team within hospital, Alexandra AvenueHealth and Social care centre, mainstream schools, special schools or in nurserysettings, dependent on the rotation.
3. To share information with others, observing confidentiality and data protection guidelinesand having due regard for local guidance on sharing information with colleagues in health,education, social services and the voluntary sector.
