The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Senior Medical Electronics Technician to join their Electronics & Medical Engineering Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, calibration, and repair of a variety of medical devices, particularly life support equipment such as anaesthetic machines and ventilators. A Higher National Certificate in a related field and a current driving license are required, as the role involves participation in an emergency on-call rota and may require travel to multiple hospital sites and locations. Additional skills in CCTV systems and medical equipment networking are advantageous.

The role entails conducting planned maintenance, repairing and servicing complex medical electronic devices, performing acceptance tests on new equipment, and training staff on device usage. Candidates must be adaptable as they may be required to rotate across different hospital locations, with flexibility in work arrangements being encouraged. Interested applicants should be prepared to cover the costs of their DBS certification through a salary deduction upon their first pay.
