Previous experience of working as an HCA (or equivalent) in a clinical environment wards or theatres.

Support the registered nurse in implementation of an agreed plan of care with the patient and in accordance with instructions and training received. Help promote and maintain an environment conducive to meeting the needs of the patient / relatives and carers. Contribute to a team approach to patient care in conjunction with all members of the multidisciplinary team. Contribute to the legality and accuracy of the patients care plan/ and or other reports and the effectiveness of the established communication /reporting system over the full 24hrs. Participate in regular ward meetings and attend other meetings as requested. Undertake tasks and procedures, in which competency has been assessed and recorded specific to the care environment. Provide support and assistance to registered staff. All team members are responsible for behaving in a manner that does not put themselves, patients, visitors and other team members in danger or at risk in the clinical environment. To assist in the maintenance of stock levels, including pharmaceutical products. To assist in the maintenance of ward cleanliness and tidiness and adhere to infection control policy and procedures at all times. To assist the patient to ensure they have the opportunity to meet their individual dietary requirements. Ensuring all patients receive their chosen and correct meals. Complete stock level checks for ward food / meals and prepare orders for delivery To receive and convey information from telephone or personal enquiries in a courteous manner and ensure all persons visiting the ward are greeted and assisted in a welcoming and supportive manner. To assist and support registered nurses and clerical staff in administrative duties as required. To escort stable patients to and from all wards and departments within the hospital.

Seeking Bank HCA to cover our wards Day Shifts Only Available. Monday - Friday, with some weekends.

  • Previous experience of working as an HCA (or equivalent) in a clinical environment wards or theatres
  • You will have NVQ Level 3 and Health and Social Care
  • Care Competencies completed
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in : ECGs, taking blood/blood pressures and patient observations

  • Assist the nurses to provide excellent patient care throughout the patients clinical pathways of care, in hospital care and surgery, to their recovery and discharge home, with follow-up care as required.
  • Support the team to deliver safe, effective elective care in an independent hospital, contributing to provide treatment of patients, private, insured and NHS funded.
  • Support the team in demonstrating compassion through effective relationships based on empathy, respect and dignity.
  • Develop own competence to deliver effective care and treatments through improving clinical skills, technical knowledge and expertise.
  • Communicate appropriately with others involved in the care of the patient.
  • Act as an advocate for safe patient care, working with the multi-disciplinary team to continually improve service provision.
  • Ensure the provision of individualised patient care, providing excellent standards of individual care.
