We are excited to offer an opportunity for a motivated Band 4 Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our innovative Crisis Care Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) team. In this vital role, you will support qualified Occupational Therapists in delivering care to young people experiencing acute mental health crises, making a positive impact on their well-being and recovery.This role offers a unique opportunity to make a profound difference in the lives of young people under our service. You will be part of an ever expanding, forward thinking and compassionate team committed to improving outcomes for young people and their families.You will be a valued member of the team, playing a crucial role in supporting Occupational Therapists and helping young people regain independence and cope with mental health challenges.As part of our CAMHS Crisis Care service, you'll have the chance to gain invaluable experience, build your skills, and contribute to the development of innovative approaches.

Support the delivery of occupational therapy interventions to young people in crisis, helping them to engage in meaningful activities that promote recovery and mental well-being.

-Assist in carrying out assessments under the guidance of qualified Occupational Therapists, focusing on the functional and daily living needs of the young person.

- Implement and monitor therapeutic activities in community and home settings, encouraging engagement in self-care, education, and leisure activities.

- Provide practical support to young people and their families during times of acute distress, helping them manage their day-to-day needs during the crisis.

- Work closely with the multidisciplinary team, including Occupational Therapists, nurses, social workers, and assistant psychologists, ensuring a joined-up approach to care.

- Assist in organising and running therapeutic groups aimed at developing social, emotional, and coping skills for young people in crisis.

- Maintain accurate records and report on the young people's progress, feeding back to the Occupational Therapist to inform care planning.

- Support the discharge and transition process, helping young people to reintegrate into their routines and activities post-crisis.
