The Pre-Registration Pharmacy Technician (Training post - Annex 21) position with Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board in Llantrisant is a fixed-term, 24-month training contract designed to equip individuals with the necessary experience and qualifications to register as pharmacy technicians with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC). Initially offering a salary at 70% of Annex 21 Band 4, the position progresses to 75% after one year. Trainees will work within a dynamic pharmacy team, gaining comprehensive experience in hospital settings, including dispensing for both inpatient and outpatient services, as well as purchasing and distribution.

Candidates should display accuracy, methodology, caring attitudes, and an interest in health and well-being. This role is ideal for enthusiastic and organized individuals who are keen on exploring the evolving responsibilities of a pharmacy technician. Welsh language skills are desirable, but applications are welcome from both English and Welsh speakers. The position is primarily for those without existing Level 3 qualifications in Pharmacy services, aiming to foster new talent in the healthcare sector.

**Pre-registration Pharmacy Technician (Training post - Annex 21)**

This post is a fixed term training contract of 24 months. The training post provides the opportunity to gain the required experience and qualification(s) needed to register as a pharmacy technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).

Salary: Initially Annex 21 Band 4 - 70%, progressing to 75% after 12 months.

Pharmacy technicians develop a high level of expertise in relation to medicines and health and they work as part of healthcare teams in hospitals, manufacturing units, community pharmacies and GP practices. They focus on management and use of medicines to make sure all types of people get the best outcomes from their medicines. They lead teams delivering medicines service.

During the two-year training you will be expected to gain experience reflecting the changing and growing roles of the Pharmacy Technician.

Successful completion of the programme enables you to apply to the General Pharmaceutical Council for registration as a pharmacy technician and to apply for jobs as a pharmacy technician.

This post is fixed term for 2 years to meet the needs of the service.
