Ensure that the portfolio of tasks/projects are planned, managed and delivered effectively.

As a Strategy & Policy Analyst within Provider Development, part of the System Development Team within NHS England's national System Architecture Function, the post holder will work as part of a dynamic team, contributing to rapid strategy and policy development across a diverse and varied portfolio.

Workstreams within Provider Development's portfolio may include (but not be limited to): realising the full benefits of provider provider collaboration within integrated care systems, improving how the NHS uses and works with the independent sector, and projects to improve specific service areas such as abortion care.

The role offers an exciting opportunity to quickly build experience of using high level problem-solving skills combined with exposure to fast paced strategy policy thinking and NHS decision-making at a national level.

The Strategy & Policy Analyst will be expected to:

  • Own and deliver key tasks within major strategy and policy projects by undertaking quantitative and qualitative information-gathering and research to help understand and resolve high profile policy issues and delivery challenges
  • Analyse evidence and information to test hypotheses and develop findings
  • Actively contribute to team problem-solving and the development of recommendations
  • Support the team to generate high impact policy recommendations and strategic approaches
  • Ensure that the portfolio of tasks/projects are planned, managed and delivered effectively
  • Organise key project meeting, engagement and workshop sessions, booking venues, sending invites, taking minutes
  • Attend and/or facilitating meetings where agreed and present on progress, ensuring that all actions are logged and followed up as required
  • Support the team to ensure the timely capture of lessons learned throughout the project life-cycle
  • Develop and manage project tracking, control and reporting arrangements ensuring that project/programme objectives can be achieved
  • Actively seek to improve and maintain equality and diversity in the team and within the policy produced
  • Be responsible for enabling the smooth running of projects/programmes by supporting project/programme leads through the operation of project management process, and the co-ordination of business management actions and activities on their behalf.
