Band 6: £37,338 to £44,962 a year per annum (pro rata for part time)  PERMANENT  GOOD SALARY 

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual to take up a post as a deputy sister / deputy charge nurse.

We are looking to recruit someone with strong management/ leadership experience who can directly deputise for the ward sister in her absence

alongside running the ward and leading the team.

Cardiology experience is an advantage but we will consider other candidates with strong leadership experience in acute areas.

The aim of the Coronary Care Unit is to provide holistic care for acute Cardiology patients, utilizing a coordinated multi-disciplinary approach, resulting in optimal patient outcomes. This includes the initiation of early intervention as appropriate. The unit provides central monitoring/ telemetry for primary PCI patients as well as all other acute cardiac conditions, and has the facilities for intra aortic balloon pacing as requiredThe candidate should be able to demonstrate a commitment to high standards of patient care as well as being able to demonstrate good organisational and leadership skills.So if you enjoy working as part of a multidisciplinary team and have a passion for working in this exciting and challenging area, please apply today!Hours per week: 37.5 - Rotational Shift Pattern.

  • The post holder is the designated deputy to the person with continuing responsibility.
  • Post holder is designated to regularly take charge of the ward and provide effective professional and managerial leadership to all staff in the absence of Sister.
  • Is expected to have a good working knowledge of the Cardiology system andnursing patients with a wide range of cardiology conditions.
  • Expected to carry out all relevant forms of care, maintaining a high standard of nursing care within the framework of Trust policies.
  • Will teach and supervise qualified and unqualified staff including basic and/or post basic students, back to nursing students and health care assistants.
