The role of Bank Theatre Practitioner at the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in Gobowen involves delivering high-quality, patient-focused care within a designated theatre environment. The successful candidate must have prior theatre experience and be capable of managing their workload independently in a specialized area. Responsibilities include ensuring the safe delivery of care, maintaining effective communication with team members, and adhering to health and safety protocols. The practitioner will also be required to document theatre activity data accurately, participate in risk management, and comply with Trust policies and mandatory training requirements to ensure the highest standards of patient care.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of safe, high quality patient focused care within their Team or area of responsibility and will be responsible for ensuring that all resources within that area are used to optimum effect, ensuring the highest quality patient care standards.
To work within the Theatre environment within your designated speciality.
Prior theatre experience is essential and candidates should make sure that their skills and competencies are up to date to enable them to work as sole practitioner to ensure the safe delivery of care to the patients.
About us
- Manage own workload in a designated highly specialist area without supervision as appropriate using all forms of knowledge, skills and experience required in order to be able to undertake the duties competently.
- To demonstrate a complex level of communication and relationship skills promoting and maintaining effective liaison throughout the Unit team and with the wider multidisciplinary team.
- Ensure the Health and Safety of all staff, patients and visitors. Reporting all incidents/accidents/near misses to the team leader. Document and monitor the safe use of equipment and economic use of supplies.
- Provide accurate and timely collection and submission of appropriate Theatre activity data, using appropriate manual and computerised systems.
- To ensure safe quality care is provided for patients within the Unit as Trust and Unit policy.
- To maintain an understanding of and adhere to all Trust and Unit policies and procedures and ensure attendance of mandatory annual training e.g. Fire, Manual Handling, CPR etc.
- To have an understanding of Risk Management and to participate in the identification/analysis of risk.
