Band 8a: £61,927 to £68,676 a year per annum inclusive of HCAS  PERMANENT 
The Solutions Architecture team falls within the Digital Service umbrella, which follows the ITIL standard of Service Management.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Solutions Architect (Applications and Data) within the Solutions Architecture team of Digital Services. This role is pivotal in delivering new technologies and solutions into the trust, utilising the latest developments in Microsoft's Azure Data Architecture and tooling. A key understanding of enterprise-level architecture is essential. The team needs highly skilled members who think outside the box and look beyond the current technology boundaries. The solutions and architectures designed by this role and the team are foundational to providing care in a digitally enabled world.

As the trust evolves and delivers its digital strategy, this role will translate technology capabilities into strategic outcomes. At its core, the role requires an understanding of good practice and a passion for excellent customer service. A proactive worker who thinks outside the box to maintain or reinstate service for customers, driving efficiency.

Career progression pathways and development opportunities are available. This role requires a passion for technology and be able to translate and build clinical requirements to innovative solutions, pushing the boundaries of the possible. Having an ability to understand clinical demands and systems is beneficial. As the trust moves and shapes its estate strategy this role will be pivotal in laying out requirements and being able to evangelise to clinical staff the art of the possible for digital innovation of new wards and premises. Offering a "can do", proactive approach to service delivery, ultimately delivering for the service needs upholding the trusts values.

The role will require a proactive approach to working relationships and could entail working with any vested partner of South London and Maudsley NHS trust.

The Solutions Architecture team falls within the Digital Service umbrella, which follows the ITIL standard of Service Management. You will be working in the Solutions Architecture section having a real drive to innovate to drive improving, maintaining and documenting new services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Extensive technical breadth of knowledge through experience in the healthcare industry
  • Ability to create and deliver specific documentation around requirements and solutions
  • Be able to work with clinical frontline staff to gather requirements and translate to scope of works or tender documentation as required
  • Be able to network and drive innovation through steering groups and bodies
  • Tenacious attitude to work with industry to deliver innovation into the trust
  • Ability to work within the Solutions team and assist in the creation of the Enterprise Architecture model, comprising Process, Roles, Applications, Technology and associated Governance
  • Creation of solutions for delivery into service in the trust
  • Strong attention to detail and proven team player, with good communication and workshop facilitation skills, able to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Work with the other trust programmes for successful deliver of new innovations
  • Ability to work proactively in an indirect supervision environment
  • The ability to network with commercial partners and other healthcare entities
  • Other activity from time to time as required to support Digital Services
  • Abide to the department and trusts policies and procedures
  • Have an understanding of the importance of Cyber Security.
