Come and join our exciting and dynamic Children and Young People's Therapy Team

We are recruiting a Physiotherapy Assistant to join the Children and Young People's Integrated Therapy Team based in Amersham. You will be joining an experienced team of Countywide Physiotherapists and Therapy assistants to deliver a service to children and young people from the ages of 0 - 19.

You will have the opportunity to work directly with children and young people and their families in a wide range of community settings to support the delivery of physiotherapy programmes and interventions under the direction of the Physiotherapist. You will have the opportunity to develop your skills working therapeutically with children and young people who have a range of health and special educational needs arising from their physical and/or learning disability, helping them to develop their physical skills and achieve their goals.

We have a well-developed competency-based training package with clinical and safeguarding supervision to support staff development.

Car driver essential. Previous experience working with children and young people preferable/highly desirable.

To undertake designated assessments and treatments with CYP as delegated by the qualified physiotherapists. To deliver individual and group interventions with or without direct supervision in a variety of settings including mainstream schools & Nurseries, clinic & child's own home across the county of Buckinghamshire.

To plan and provide timely interventions within the framework established by the physiotherapist and to communicate results back to the therapist.

To communicate effectively with the physiotherapists and other members of the transdisciplinary team.

To maintain accurate and up to date documentation and clinical records consistent with legal and organisational requirements, monitored by the therapists.

To undertake advanced manual handling techniques involving complex patients and or equipment following appropriate training, in line with organisational and departmental policies and procedures

To be responsible for the safe and competent use of all appropriate equipment and report any safety issues using the correct procedures

To support qualified physiotherapists and prepare resources to enable children to complete therapy interventions in accordance with departmental pathways, trust policies.
