NHS ON-CALL WEEKEND
The Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust is offering a full-time Senior Clinical Fellow position in Trauma & Orthopaedics with a focus on Shoulder & Upper Limb, commencing August 2025. This fixed-term role is designed for individuals aiming to specialize as shoulder surgeons, with a successful track record of past fellows progressing to consultant roles. Candidates must have completed their higher surgical training in Trauma and Orthopaedics, possess the FRCS(Orth) or equivalent, and hold full GMC registration. The fellowship includes responsibilities such as managing patient care, conducting outpatient clinics, assisting in surgical procedures, and overseeing the upper limb trauma service, while also participating in audits, research, and teaching opportunities.

The position involves a workload of 3-4 clinics and equivalent operating lists per week, along with supervising junior medical staff. The role also includes the completion of a service improvement project and active engagement in the BOA Future Leaders' Programme. The fellow will work directly under the guidance of experienced consultants, gaining exposure to a range of surgical procedures from basic to complex levels, including arthroscopic reconstruction and arthroplasty. An on-call commitment of 1:12 weekends is also part of the role.
