Compass is seeking a skilled Bereavement Counsellor to join their team in Barnsley, focusing on providing support within local schools. This fixed-term position, lasting one year with the possibility of extension, will involve collaboration with other professionals from Barnsley's Mental Health Support Teams (MHSTs) to ensure children and young people (CYP) receive timely and appropriate mental health support. The successful candidate will be an accredited counsellor with specialized bereavement training and a minimum of two years' experience working with children, young people, and families, facilitating both individual and group interventions related to grief.

In this role, the bereavement counsellor will engage in targeted workshops and innovative healing methods in community and educational settings. Effective communication, teamwork, and organisational skills are essential, as the counsellor will document interventions and contribute to the development of the service.
