The portering department is looking for a motivated individual to join the linen distribution team on a part time basis of 32.5 hrs per week, over 5 days.

The linen team pays a pivotal role in supporting patient comfort and safety and the successful candidate will work closely with clinical staff members and facilities colleagues; to ensure a high quality linen provision service.

Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • To order and receive clean laundry from the laundry provider.
  • Assist in the recording of linen stock, deliveries, shortages and orders.
  • To check delivery stock levels are correct and match provider delivery advice notes, advising the supervisor of any shortages.
  • Identify ward and department daily linen requirements.
  • Sort, pack, and deliver linen and associated items to wards and departments.
  • Carry out visual maintenance checks of linen cages, electric tugs, trolleys reporting issues and requesting maintenance when required.
  • Carry out cleaning duties in the linen room and linen cupboards.
  • Provide occasional assistance to general portering.
