Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a motivated Linen Porter for a part-time position (32.5 hours per week) in their linen distribution team. This role is essential for ensuring patient comfort and safety by maintaining high-quality linen service in collaboration with clinical staff. The portering department is looking for a motivated individual to join the linen distribution team on a part time basis of 32.5 hrs per week, over 5 days.
The linen team pays a pivotal role in supporting patient comfort and safety and the successful candidate will work closely with clinical staff members and facilities colleagues; to ensure a high quality linen provision service.
Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- To order and receive clean laundry from the laundry provider.
- Assist in the recording of linen stock, deliveries, shortages and orders.
- To check delivery stock levels are correct and match provider delivery advice notes, advising the supervisor of any shortages.
- Identify ward and department daily linen requirements.
- Sort, pack, and deliver linen and associated items to wards and departments.
- Carry out visual maintenance checks of linen cages, electric tugs, trolleys reporting issues and requesting maintenance when required.
- Carry out cleaning duties in the linen room and linen cupboards.
- Provide occasional assistance to general portering.
