King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an innovative and self-motivated Orthoptist Specialist to join their dynamic team in London. The role involves managing a varied caseload across core Orthoptic clinics, as well as specializing in adult motility, paediatric and neuro-ophthalmology, with a particular focus on IVT injections for retina treatments. The successful applicant will work autonomously as part of a multidisciplinary team, conducting thorough patient assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and undertaking both pre-and post-operative evaluations. New graduates are encouraged to apply, as the department offers a Band 5/6 run-through position with a comprehensive preceptorship program.

The Orthoptist Specialist will also handle administrative responsibilities, maintain accurate patient records, and communicate effectively with colleagues and patients. Mentoring junior team members and contributing to educational training initiatives are essential aspects of the role. Additionally, the candidate will be involved in research and service development, adhering to clinical governance and ensuring safe practices in accordance with health and safety regulations. Candidates are expected to demonstrate empathy and sensitivity to patients' diverse backgrounds and needs while consistently providing high-quality care.
