The role of Specialist Nurse (Community - Okehampton) at the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust involves providing expert clinical leadership and care management for a team of community nurses. The successful candidate will handle their own patient caseload, offering nursing care, assessments, and support to patients and their families within home or alternative care settings. This position aims to keep patients in their preferred places of care, ultimately promoting independence and enhancing quality of life, including assisting in timely discharges from hospital and providing end-of-life care.

Ideal candidates should be registered nurses with a minimum of two years' community experience and possess, or be willing to pursue, the SPQ in District Nursing qualification.
