Band 8b: £62,215 to £72,293 a year pro rata  PERMANENT  GOOD SALARY 

You will be expected to quickly build robust working relationships across the department and with the local clinical psychology training courses, to strengthen and grow our training offer.

This is an exciting new post to support training and development of trainees and clinicians within Psychology in Healthcare at Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals trust. We have strong working relationships with local clinical psychology training courses and regularly supervise trainees. There is scope to offer supervision and training and to develop a broader offer to develop psychologically informed care in the hospital. You will need to have experience of teaching and supervising and you will need to have a strong awareness of both national health service and academic requirements for the psychological professions. As this is a new post, the requirements and tasks will evolve over time.

About us

  • Co-ordinates training placements for clinical psychology trainees and other psychological professions. Provides supervision of supervision to clinical psychologists, trainee clinical psychologists and other psychological professionals. Leads on the identification and development of innovative training opportunities. Leads on the governance of training placements. Liaises with training courses in relation to placement type and capacity. Leads on the development of income generating training courses as part of the Newcastle Clinical Skills Academy . Develops programme of staff training to scaffold the supervision of psychological professionals
  • Utilises research skills for audit, policy and service development and research within the area served by the team/service.
  • As necessary, undertakes a small amount of clinical work to maintain professional skills and registrations.

Please note it is a requirement of The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust that all successful candidates who require a DBS for the post they have been offered pay for their DBS certificate.The method of payment is a salary deduction from your first months pay.
