The Suffolk Adults Eating Disorders Service (AED) has recently undergone and exciting transformation with a new Clinical model providing NICE Concordant treatment to adults with a diagnosis of an eating disorder. As part of this transformation, we are proud that the AED team won Clinical Team of the year within NSFT and were also short listed for the national GP awards for our four-step medical monitoring model.
We are therefore excited to be looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and experienced Senior CBT Therapist accredited with BABCP. Who has specialist skills, working with adults with a diagnosis of an eating disorder, to join us and be part of our continuing development as a team. As the successful candidate you will be a valued member of the supportive multi-disciplinary team based in Suffolk and working across both Ipswich and Bury St Edmunds. As a senior CBT therapist, you will provide clinical supervision, training and consultation to other practitioners in the team and wider eating disorders service line, undertake service evaluation, audit and research, and provide specialist psychological assessments, formulations and interventions including CBT-ED and MANTRA.
This post holder will support our multi-disciplinary team to complete assessments and deliver individual and group work within community settings. This role gives opportunity for development of skills and expertise in a supportive multi-disciplinary team.
You will be supported within the team by senior clinicians and be part of the senior leadership team, working closely with other eating disorder specialists. Clinical supervision and professional leadership will be provided.There are excellent opportunities for professional development within the team through supervision, training, team CPD and wider Specialist Services and Trust events.To provide a qualified, high-quality specialist psychology service to individuals, carers, families and groups, within and across teams, in line with best, evidence-based practice and trust care pathways.
To provide an active contribution to service development of the AEDS pathwayTo be responsible for holding and managing a therapy caseload and to exercise autonomous professional responsibility for the planning and prioritising of own workload and the assessment, treatment and discharge of clients, within the bounds of the service operational policy.To use analytical and judgment skills and be responsible for taking clinical management decisions in complex clinical issues.

The successful applicant will be part of a supportive multi-disciplinary team with a base in Suffolk working across both Ipswich and Bury St Edmunds supporting clinicians. To provide specialist psychological assessments, formulations and interventions for clients in the AED service often working with; neurodevelopmental disorders, learning disabilities and common co-occurring conditions including anxiety, depression and medical conditions.
You would also provide clinical supervision to the Band 7 CBT Therapists and CBT trainees with the team and wider Group supervision.It is an exciting time to join the Suffolk AED service, this post will support our transformation work within the service for adults with a diagnosis of an eating disorder and wider trust improvement plan.
This role is advertised as a full-time post Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm however, we would equally consider applicants who would prefer a part time role. Home based working is available in addition to patient facing delivery.
