The role demands flexibility and effective workload management to handle varying tasks and tight deadlines. Candidates are encouraged to visit the department before shortlisting, and there may be opportunities for cross-site working. The successful applicant will play a vital role in supporting the recruitment of patients and ensuring the adherence to clinical protocols in both non-interventional and complex interventional studies.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the cancer research team at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital (RSH), working together to contribute to national and international cancer and haematology research studies run at SATH.
This band 6 role involves working with the team to deliver trials to our SATH population, giving them the opportunity to participate in developing novel and innovative treatments and interventions.
No two days will look the same as you work on new trials, follow ups, screening and recruiting patients while guiding them through their research journey.
Ideally the post holder will have recent experience of working in Clinical Research or the ability demonstrate a real passion for research, ideally within Oncology. You must be flexible and hard working with the ability to manage your workload effectively to cope with tight deadlines and conflicting demands.
Visits to the department are highly encouraged prior to shortlisting.
The focus of this role will be to support the recruitment and follow up of patients in cancer and haematology studies, both academic and industry sponsored.
The role will involve identifying, screening, consenting, recruiting and conducting follow up with patients into many national clinical studies, as well as entering data onto spreadsheets and data collection forms. The successful post holder will have overall day-to-day responsibility for the delivery of clinical protocols into non-interventional as well as more complex interventional academic and industry studies.
Some cross site working may be incorporated with this role.
