The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking Locally Employed Doctors in Anaesthetics (CT1-CT3 equivalent) for fixed-term positions at their Telford site. The role primarily involves covering elective theatre sessions, participating in an on-call commitment for emergency theatres, and occasional work in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), with options for increased responsibilities as appropriate. Key tasks include conducting theatre and ICU sessions, supporting trainee doctors and medical students, developing clinical skills for managing acutely ill patients, and working effectively within a multi-professional team.

The position offers a structured job plan that includes 9 Direct Clinical Care PAs and 1 Supporting Professional Activity per week, with the expectation of participating in a 1 in 8 full-shift rota. The schedule is designed to comply with the 2016 Junior Doctor Contract, providing ample training opportunities while ensuring safe service delivery, with weekends on a 1:4 frequency and seven night shifts over an eight-week period. The department is open to accommodating individual circumstances while meeting clinical service requirements.
