Band 8a: £53,755 to £60,504 a year  PERMANENT 
Provides complex sensitive and/or contentious and challenging information/messages, on blood component collection and makes recommendations to senior managers and colleagues, asking for operational managers to take action.

The Supply Chain Planning Manager is responsible for the management and development of supply processes for all blood component products (red cells, platelets, plasma and other specialist components e.g., granulocytes etc.) including supplying specific information for blood component planning across the supply chain in a range of scenarios. Through an Integrated Supply Review process, the role holder is responsible for identifying any shortfalls based on demand and supply plans and agree actions with all relevant stakeholders to maintain collection at the necessary levels to meet patient demand. The Supply Chain Planning Manager is responsible for converting the demand plan into an issues and supply plan and escalating through the Integrated Supply Planning process any projected shortfalls in supply. Working with Head of Supply Chain Planning, the position holder is responsible for the initiation of the annual business planning process, working with Blood Donation and Donor Experience to deliver a red cell, platelets and plasma collection programme that meets the predicted demand forecast, is fit for purpose, and demonstrates productivity.

Communicates supply risks with operational teams and Business Continuity teams in a way that is evidence based and easily understood Facilitates supply review meetings, convey supply messages at senior operational team meeting (BOLT, NOLT etc) Be the professional lead on all areas pertaining to blood component collection, providing advice and expert knowledge to the Head of Blood Supply Chain Planning and other senior colleagues. Use a range of appropriate tools and techniques to conduct analysis on supply chain activity and performance, which may also include conflicting opinions from other stakeholders. Identify options for performance improvement and delivery of organisational objectives.
