Are you a registered healthcare professional looking for an exciting new challenge? We have a fantastic opportunity for you to join our Senior Practice Learning Facilitator team on a temporary contract. We are seeking passionate and motivated registered health professionals (Nursing, Midwifery, AHP) who are eager to enhance their skills and knowledge in creating and supporting quality learning environments. Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

Contribute to the development and implementation of local, regional, and national education standards.

Support non-medical learners in clinical practice.

Deliver high-quality learning experiences in clinical environments.

Understand and apply Pre-Registration Education programmes.

Demonstrate knowledge of NMC and HCPC standards, coaching models, and NHS England standards for supporting learning in practice.

You will be working with experienced, knowledgeable and skilled colleagues from a range of health professional backgrounds. You will have an allocated portfolio of work aligned to specific CSU's. Working directly with CSU colleagues, you will support the clinical areas in identifying and implementing training, development and supportive actions which enable practice colleagues to provide safe, effective and robust learning experiences for learners across the full range of non-medical practice placements.

Working in partnership with the clinical teams and University stakeholders, you will lead locally, on the implementation of the quality assurance national requirements which impact on practice learning. In doing so, you will develop strategies and resources to ensure that practice areas provide high quality and safe practice placements that provide suitable preparation of learners to join the healthcare workforce.

As an experienced Practice Assessor/Supervisor/Educator, you will draw upon your prior experience to advise and support learners and colleagues in practice in identifying, managing and resolving any issues which arise for learners during their practice placements. This may involve meeting with learners, their supervisors and lecturers to advise on restorative action plans, to identify relevant areas for improvement (be that for any party or the setting) or to support in optimising the available learning in a given setting.

JOB SUMMARY:

To lead on the development and maintenance of quality assured practice placements for non-medical healthcare students undertaking educational training within the Leeds placement circuit, in line with NMC, HCPC, Health Education England quality assurance framework.

Lead at a local, regional and national level on quality assurance initiatives relating to practice learning. Liaise with and support nursing, midwife and AHP leads with quality assurance initiatives relating to practice learning.

Review and further develop processes and systems that support quality practice learning across the healthcare community.

Be responsible for developing and facilitating effective and efficient partnerships/networks locally and nationally with the view to sharing best practice.

Act as a conduit between the Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and placement providers from within NHS and non-NHS organisations.

Engage in the preparation and delivery of educational programmes which impact on the quality of practice learning and student progression in practice.

Provide immediate and strategic views on issues relating to practice learning.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & AREAS RESPONSIBILITY:

To be an expert resource for colleagues seeking advice and guidance on issues relating to practice learning.

Lead on the design and implementation of quality monitoring processes in collaboration with the education and placement providers.

Lead locally in support of the strategic direction of nationally and locally driven quality assurance methodology in relation to practice learning.

Lead locally on the implementation of the quality assurance national requirements which impact on practice learning.

Create robust communication networks for practice learning issues to be raised between NHS and non-NHS service providers, Higher and Further education and Health Education England as appropriate.

Promote effective partnership working with stakeholders

Identify and create opportunities for practice learning within a multi-professional environment that meets the needs of the learning outcomes of the professions involved.

Further develop existing placements and create new and innovative opportunities for students.

Increase the number of quality learning opportunities within the community, mental health and primary care setting.

Work with HEI and service providers to ensure the number of mentors/assessors/practice supervisors across the healthcare community is sufficient and appropriately prepared in terms of mentor updates, sign-off mentors, and triennial review, to support the numbers of students in practice now and in the future.

Advise the development of effective support systems for mentors/assessors/practice supervisors.

Advise and support the development and implementation of new models of placement learning.
