The SPIN programme is now established in North Central London but moving into a new phase that requires innovation to sustain a more diverse multiprofessional offer across various stages of professional careers. The postholder will need to manage the existing GPN fellowship programme, with the current GP Programme Director and Programme Manager (PM).
The clinical lead will ensure that they bring their own clinical perspective to the programme while being able to gain the credibility and respect of a range of other clinicians. They will work to understand the different needs of those professions, increasing the retention of our wider workforce in NCL, and developing a diverse leadership.
Key attributes of the postholder
1. Post holder to be a qualified clinician and be working in general practice currently or demonstrate recent relevant clinical experience in primary care to ensure an understanding of local clinical practice
2. Good working knowledge of educational support in primary care training, health systems and relevant clinical experience in primary care, leadership, multi- professional, postgraduate teaching, appraisal and continuous professional development.
3. Educational expertise and small group facilitation skills, including an understanding of multiprofessional preceptorship.
4. Understanding of supporting professional resilience, retention and wider primary care workforce issues.
5. Commitment to new ways of working and workforce transformation.
6. Preferably have knowledge of the local geography.
7. Experience in liaising with HEIs and other partners in leadership roles.
8. Flexibility and willingness to travel within the NCL area to provide face-to-face support as required.
This is an evolving role and the postholder will be expected to meet the challenges that may be presented commensurate with the band.
