The role of Peer Support Worker in the Mental Health Treatment Requirements (MHTR) team at Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust in Guildford is designed for individuals with lived experience of the Criminal Justice System or imprisonment. This position focuses on using personal experiences to assist others facing mental health challenges, providing essential support and guidance as they navigate their recovery journey. While prior experience in peer support is beneficial, it is not a necessity, as training will be provided.

Key responsibilities include establishing supportive relationships with service users, helping them identify their strengths, interests, and achievable recovery goals, and facilitating engagement in relevant groups and activities. The role requires independent commuting across the Surrey area and the ability to collaborate actively with colleagues and professionals to meet the needs of clients. The ultimate aim is to empower individuals to regain control over their lives and develop an identity outside of the criminal justice system.
