We're seeking an experienced band 6 practitioner to join our MH Liaison Team. However, we are also interested in current Band 5 practitioners looking to develop into a Band 6 Post within 12-18 months following a period of development opportunities and evidence of achieving standards for Band 6 Liaison Practitioners.
We're looking for innovative, motivated and compassionate mental health professionals to join the MH Liaison Team. We offer extensive training to develop your skills. We have weekly complex case discussions to give staff the opportunity to explore specific cases from the previous week. Furthermore, we have daily MDTs to discuss assessments and treatment plans. Our MDTs welcome a variety of different disciplines, including psychologists, social workers, mental health nurses, physical health nurses, psychiatrists, and occupational therapists, all with the aim of improving patient outcomes.
You will have the unique position of working alongside our physical health colleagues within the acute hospital. This makes every day fresh and exciting as it will provide you with new learning opportunities, and allows you to work with diverse, complex patients. You'll be an important figure in advocating for patients and promoting parity of esteem within the acute setting. We encourage staff to take the initiative and provide educational sessions to our physical health colleagues with the aim of improving mental health awareness.
We offer a dynamic role to work with patients over the age of 18, with a focus on OPMH patients, with either an acute mental health concern or worsening of a pre-existing condition. Your role will include:
-Conducting full, holistic, biopsychosocial mental health assessments.
-Administering personalised interventions.
-Providing tailored treatment and support.
-Completing recovery focused care plans with patients.
-Working collaboratively with our acute physical health colleagues in Queen Alexandra Hospital to deliver holistic integrated care
As a registered professional you will automatically become a member of our Academy of Clinical Excellence (ACE) which has a specific focus on the professional development and career progression of our nurses and Allied Health Professionals. As part of ACE's commitment to you, our development pathway for band 6's focuses on enhancing your competence and confidence as a senior clinician and leader.
This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Band 6's who wish to extend their knowledge and experience within liaison services or you may be newly qualified and seeking to progress your career within liaison. Applicants to the posts will be supported to gain competence by extensive in house training, bespoke supervision. If you are newly qualified you will join our trust preceptorship programme as part of your role. You will then progress to a more senior banding within our service, once you have demonstrated you can evidence the required competencies.
