The Research and Innovation Lead for the NHS Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire Integrated Care Board (ICB) is tasked with driving the research and innovation agenda within the integrated care system (ICS) to achieve its four key objectives: improving population health outcomes, addressing inequalities, enhancing productivity, and supporting broader economic and social development. The role entails strategic long-term planning for research initiatives, budget management, and fostering collaborations with various stakeholders, including academic institutions and healthcare entities, to maximize the impact of research and innovation efforts in the region.

This position requires strong leadership capabilities to engage the healthcare community and implement national policies at the local level while ensuring compliance with ICB legal duties. The Research and Innovation Lead will also be responsible for enhancing the local research landscape, managing grant portfolios, and leading communication efforts to promote the importance of research and innovation. Additionally, the post holder must operate effectively within a complex political environment, influencing policy development and maintaining partnerships across the NHS and other sectors.
