Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW) is seeking a Head of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Programme Delivery for Pharmacy in Cardiff. This leadership role involves overseeing the strategic development and coordination of the Pharmacy CPD programme to address the educational needs of the pharmacy workforce, aligned with the goals of "Pharmacy: Delivering a Healthier Wales" and NHS Wales priorities. The position requires strong collaboration with stakeholders across Wales and the UK to ensure that the programme meets regulatory requirements and future professional visions, while also exploring innovative, multi-disciplinary CPD solutions.

The successful candidate will be a registered Pharmacy professional responsible for managing a team, leading national projects, and fostering relationships with key stakeholders, including government and healthcare organisations. They will also contribute to the Pharmacy Senior Leadership Team, participate in consultations and committees, and oversee performance quality reporting and budget accountability. This role offers an opportunity for impactful work in education and training within the pharmacy sector, requiring one day a week in the South Wales office and occasional travel for stakeholder meetings.

An exciting opportunity for a suitably experienced registered Pharmacy professional has become available at Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW) for the Head of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Programme Delivery (Pharmacy)

The role will be responsible for leading a team in the strategic development and coordination of the HEIW Pharmacy CPD programme to meet the educational needs of the whole pharmacy workforce and support achieving the outcomes of "Pharmacy: Delivering a Healthier Wales" and key NHS Wales strategic priorities.

The postholder will ensure the HEIW CPD programme meets the statutory requirements of the Duty of Quality standards.

The postholder will be expected to work with stakeholders and partners across Wales and the wider UK to ensure the programme meets service needs, encompassing regulation and future vision for the profession. The postholder will be expected to work collaboratively across HEIW to explore innovative ways to provide multi-disciplinary CPD.

In addition, the post holder will be a key member of the Pharmacy Senior Leadership Team, contributing to the broader strategic direction of the Pharmacy Deanery within the Medical Directorate at HEIW.

The successful individual will be expected to work from our South Wales Head office, Ty Dysgu once per week and travel for external stakeholder meetings where required

oWorking in partnership for multi-organisation ownership and accountabilityoManaging projects at a national leveloRepresent HEIW in senior stakeholder meetings, briefings, conferences, workshops and other forums as appropriateoBe a key member of the Pharmacy Senior Leadership Team, contributing to the broader strategic direction of the Pharmacy Deanery within the Medical Directorate in HEIWo Responsible for the HEIW performance and quality reporting requirements for this programme area oRunning consultations, workstream Committees and task and finish groups to understand and improve system requirementsoBudget responsibility and accountabilityo Manage CPD regional team
