The Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist for a fixed-term position covering an Employment/Career Break until August 2025, with potential for extension. This role focuses on providing care for in-patients on the Stroke Unit, and is suitable for current Band 6 therapists or experienced Band 5 therapists with relevant experience. Candidates must hold a degree in Speech & Language Therapy, ideally have postgraduate training in adult dysphagia, and be registered with the Health & Care Professions Council.

Responsibilities include autonomously assessing and treating adults with communication and swallowing disorders due to stroke and other neurological conditions, primarily within an in-patient setting. Experience in instrumental dysphagia assessments, clinical audits, and training other professionals is desirable. The therapist will collaborate closely with the SaLT team and multidisciplinary teams, manage patient care, and contribute to team development, including student supervision and in-service training.

The position is full-time (37.5 hours per week), with flexibility for part-time applicants. The therapy team is supportive and innovative, focusing on professional development and effective service delivery.
