Hingham Surgery is seeking a full-time Dispensary Manager to oversee the efficient operation of their dispensary. The role requires experience in healthcare and managing multidisciplinary teams, focusing on ensuring quick and accurate medication dispensing while maintaining financial controls. Key responsibilities include supervising patient navigation operations, collaborating with clinical staff, and preparing standard operating procedures and practice formularies. The manager will also handle prescription collation, oversee monthly checks on drug prices, and coordinate the Dispensing Services Quality Scheme.

Hingham Surgery is looking to appoint a dispensary manager to help lead our organisation on a full-time basis, 37.5 hours per week over 5 days.
If you have experience of working in healthcare, with the general public and ideally leading multidisciplinary teams and are looking for a new challenge, then we would love to hear from you.
- Responsible for the management and smooth running of the dispensary
- Oversee the patient navigation operations of the practice, ensuring staff achieve their primary responsibilities.
- Oversee the provision of quick, efficient, and accurate dispensing of medication to patients, and to ensure effective financial control of the dispensary.
- Work closely with clinical staff to ensure the smooth running of the practice, reporting any problems encountered to the relevant person.
- Preparation and regular review of Standard Operating Procedures.
- Preparation of Practice Formulary after consultation with dispensary clinical lead.
- Oversee prescription collation and endorsing.
- Oversee submission of prescriptions and preparation of end of month return to the PPD.
- Order of vaccines for annual vaccination campaigns.
- Providing training in dispensary as needed.
- Monthly checks of the drug tariff for price and category changes, check Monthly Index of Medical Specialties (MIMS) for new or discontinued drugs, and following up changes with drug company representatives where necessary.
- Manage and co-ordinate Dispensing Services Quality Scheme (DSQS), including dispensing review of use of medication (DRUMS), competency assessments, audits and self-assessment submission.
