The main duties will include a mix of face to face and telephone consultations, booked both by the Admin team, who follow the pathways of a Care Navigation software package, to ensure standardized and appropriate booking and also by the Duty Doctor from their Same Day Triage.


Job responsibilities

Proposed Duties for Salaried GP

Morning sessions: 10 x 10-15 minute slots (Post-holder to decide appointment length)

Afternoon sessions: 10 x 10-15 minute slots (Post-holder to decide appointment length)

Home Visits (low in number - apportioned by the Duty Doctor)

Paperwork, Correspondence, Results & Tasks in residual session time

Duty Doctor days - 1 per week on rotation Tuesday or Friday (although if colleague on Annual Leave, may be both on occasion) - include 23 Same Day Triage telephone calls for action, delegating to colleagues, providing support/debrief time to GPST1, FY2 and PA in the afternoon with the cases they have been delegated and 2 NHS111/NWAS bookable telephone call slots.

Full Practice Meetings (Quarterly)

Doctors' Meetings (Fortnightly)

Education / Debriefing / Mentoring & Support addressed within the above meetings.

Mandatory Training e.g. Basic Life Support Training and Safeguarding Training (If first Level 3 post, minimum of 8 Hours Adult Safeguarding Initial training and 16 hours of Child Safeguarding Initial training in first 12 months to be accessed/provided during normal working hours, or if already achieved, 8 hours of Adult Safeguarding Refresher training and 12 hours Child Safeguarding Refresher training over a rolling period of 3 years to be accessed/provided during CPD allocated time.)

CPD in accordance with clauses 49 & 50 of Model Terms & Conditions and, subject to prior agreement and appropriate advance notice to meet exigencies of the practice operation 1 pro rata week per annum

We are looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic and motivated salaried GP to join us, working 5 sessions of 10 appointments per week over 2.5 days (Tue AM & PM, Thu AM and Fri AM & PM). This will allow the post-holder to have the option of increasing their income stream by taking on medical students and have the opportunity of developing additional services. Salary will be £10k per session per year to start, depending on experience. 6 weeks paid annual leave and one week's paid study leave pro rata with NHS pension in addition.

All practice patients have a "Usual Doctor" who is responsible for prescribing, incoming correspondence, results and private work for those patients. The "Usual Doctor" allocated list numbers are based on a pro rata share of the whole population based on the number of sessions worked.
