The role is to provide support to the wider clinical team in delivering first class healthcare to our patients at the GP Practice. The Healthcare Assistant will provide a variety of healthcare functions under the supervision of the Practice Nurse and GP Partners. We seek a motivated person who can make this role their own and we would support development of the successful applicant. A small friendly team awaits the right person.

We are looking for an experienced HCA on a P/T basis over 3 days.

You will have pre-booked clinics and you will need experience of the following

Health checks

ECG recording

BP monitoring

Long term conditions initial reviews

Phlebotomy

Chaperoning duties

Smoking Cessation

Weight Management

Pre diabetic checks

Processing Lab samples

Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recording

Surgical equipment and vaccine re-stocking and stock rotation

Ordering of stock

Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms

Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients health and well-being

Administrating Flu, Shingles, Pneumococcal and B12 injection under the supervision of the Practice Nurse in accordance with practice protocol and PSD.

Winstanley Medical Centre are looking for an experienced Health Care Assistant to join the practice on a part time basis over 3 days.

As an experienced Health Care Assistant you will have pre-booked clinics to see patients of the practice. It is essential applicants have experience of taking blood, and measuring blood pressure, and would be advantageous if able to administer flu vaccines and B12 injections. Ideally with GP practice and preferably hold a Care Certificate within General Practice.

Days of work Wednesday Thursday and Friday.

Administrating influenza, Shingles, Pneumococcal and B12 injection under the supervision of the Practice Nurse in accordance with practice protocol and PSD.

Winstanley Medical Centre is part of the SWAN PCN. We are a friendly, well-established, family practice with around 3200 patients. You will be joining one GP Partner, two other regular locum GPs and a Practice Nurse. The practice is based in Winstanley, Wigan in a purpose built owned Health Centre and utilise SystmOne (TPP) Clinical system. You may be required to work on occasions in our other Practices in Burscough and Skelmersdale for training, meetings or absence cover.
