The Practice Development Midwife at Croydon Health Services NHS Trust is responsible for enhancing midwifery practice through the development, implementation, and evaluation of clinical guidelines and training programs. This role involves collaborating with midwives across various clinical settings to ensure they possess the necessary competencies for safe and compassionate care. Key responsibilities include mentoring newly qualified and internationally educated midwives, maintaining electronic training databases, and delivering educational programs tailored to the needs of the midwifery workforce.

Additionally, the midwife will work closely with the maternity practice development team to facilitate training and support for preceptors and mentors, ensuring that effective supervision and professional development opportunities are provided within the clinical environment. The position requires a commitment to evidence-based practice and aims to foster a culture of continuous improvement in maternity services.
