We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated Radiographer with excellent organisational skills to complement our friendly, social and dynamic Radiography Team.
You will be expected to justify and perform radiographic examinations, provide direct care and a high quality diagnostic imaging service in order to assist in the management of patients referred from clinicians. You will adhere to Ionising Radiation Regulations and IR(ME)R to ensure the correct procedure is justified and performed and participate in own, department and care group research & development.
This post is not suitable for students due to qualify in Summer 2025 (an advert will be released early next year).
Act independently in the assessment of referrals for X-Ray examinations, taking full responsibility for the justification of general X-Ray examinations in order to reduce unnecessary ionising radiation exposure of patients in accordance with The Ionising Radiations Regulations 2and local rules.
Maintain a high level of expertise in the safe operation of X-Ray equipment and manage faults effectively.
Provide advice to clinicians on the nature of a diagnostic image either verbally or using the red dot system to identify possible pathology.
Work as part of a team to ensure effective communication and delivery of care.
Prioritise workload depending on the severity of a patient's condition and the direct impact on their management.
Liaise with fellow healthcare workers and referring clinicians to provide a high quality imaging service to patients.
Maintain accurate patient records by input of accurate information to reflect the service provided and meet professional standards.
