The Education Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP) role at Wigan Mental Health Support Team (MHST), part of Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust, is focused on supporting the mental health needs of children and young people in educational settings. Applicants must possess an existing EMHP qualification. The position involves collaborating with school staff to enhance their ability to recognize and address emerging mental health challenges among students. Key responsibilities include delivering evidence-based interventions for mild to moderate mental health issues, supporting the senior mental health lead in developing a holistic approach to mental health within schools, providing brief interventions and support plans for students, and liaising with external services to ensure appropriate care.
