The Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust is seeking dynamic and motivated doctors for the position of MYDoc Registrar in General Surgery in Wakefield for a 12-month tenure. The role involves working within a supportive environment that fosters the development of technical and professional skills, with all Emergency Surgery operations centralized at the Wakefield site. Registrars will participate in a 1:14 full-shift rota, actively contributing to the daily operations of the General Surgical department, attending operating theatre sessions, outpatient clinics, and engaging in multi-disciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities include managing patients with both acute and chronic conditions, referring cases to other specialties, conducting outpatient activities, and participating in relevant administrative tasks. The role also encompasses teaching junior medical staff, involvement in clinical governance and audits, and opportunities for further education and skill development through structured training programs. Although not formally recognized as a training post, successful candidates will receive a Certificate of Achievement upon completion of their training program.
