The Stonecot Surgery in Sutton is seeking a part-time Phlebotomist to work four-hour sessions each weekday morning, responsible for collecting blood samples from patients as directed by GPs or nurse practitioners. The role involves verifying patient identity, performing venepuncture, correctly labeling samples, and ensuring timely dispatch of samples for testing. Additionally, the Phlebotomist will maintain confidentiality, adhere to health and safety protocols, and manage stock ordering and personal protective equipment.

The ideal candidate should be a team player able to prioritize their workload and comply with practice and national guidelines. Their responsibilities include documenting blood sample collections in the EMIS system, ensuring patient comfort, and addressing any significant patient concerns. Furthermore, the Phlebotomist is expected to participate in ongoing professional development, uphold quality standards, and communicate effectively with both team members and patients.
