The role of a Waiting List Clerk at Taunton with Somerset NHS Foundation Trust involves managing and organizing surgical waiting lists as part of a collaborative front office team. Key responsibilities include handling inbound calls regarding scheduling or rescheduling admission dates, supporting ophthalmic pre-operative assessments, and performing back-office tasks such as managing post and stationery. The clerk will also coordinate with Waiting List Co-Ordinators on patient communication, including compiling Harm Safety Netting Letters and clinical reviews, while addressing queries from consultants and other Trust staff.

Additionally, the clerk will schedule patients for theatre sessions, rearrange theatre lists as needed, and maintain clear communication with patients regarding their admission dates. Responsibilities also include general clerical duties such as handling daily post, photocopying, and providing cover for other clerical staff during absences.
