As part of our Single Point of Access (SPA) and NHS 111 team, you'll play a vital role working over the phone. You'll be responsible for conducting clinical risk and mental state assessments, providing short-term psychological interventions, and signposting patients to the most appropriate care under the direction of a senior practitioner. You'll be an expert in emotional validation and de-escalating crises, using a range of psychological interventions to empower patients and their families. With a variety of shift patterns available, you'll provide 24/7 support to those in need. We're looking for confident, recovery focused individuals with excellent communication skills. As a SPA & NHS 111 Telecoach, you'll be at the heart of mental health crisis triage, providing rapid, expert support over the phone. You will:
Undertake clinical risk assessments and make informed decisions about next steps for patient care with a senior practitioner.
Deliver short-term psychological interventions using evidence-based techniques to manage distress.
De-escalate crises and empower patients, carers, and families with distress tolerance and emotional regulation strategies.
Liaise with key agencies such as social care, emergency services and community mental health teams to ensure seamless patient care.
Supervise and support junior staff, apprentices and trainees, fostering a learning environment.
Champion service user safety and dignity, driving continuous improvement in crisis response services.
