The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust is looking for a Procurement Centre Lead, a role that may be positioned as Band 6 or Band 7 based on experience. Candidates for the Band 7 role should ideally have NHS experience in clinical categories, though significant public sector procurement experience is also valued. For the Band 6 position, candidates with some knowledge of procurement, stores, or logistics within the public sector will be considered, with an emphasis on a positive attitude and willingness to learn.

The successful applicant will provide professional procurement advice, lead procurement processes to optimize value and service, and manage non-pay expenditure within specific centres or divisions. Responsibilities include delivering strategic and operational procurement, achieving savings targets, ensuring compliance with legislation, and participating in internal and external meetings to enhance procurement services. Additionally, the role involves reviewing non-pay spend in collaboration with center managers and the Head of Procurement to identify cost-saving initiatives and foster collaborative efforts across Trusts and divisions. Flexibility to meet service needs is also essential.

More about the NHS
The National Health Service (NHS) is a cornerstone of healthcare in the United Kingdom, established in 1948 with the simple yet profound principle of providing healthcare to all citizens, free at the point of use. This revolutionary system aimed to ensure that access to medical services would not depend on an individual’s financial situation, a concept that has since become fundamental to British societal values.Learn more...
