Division B, non-malignant haematology are looking to appoint a confident and highly motivated nurse with excellent communication skills to work across two specialist nursing teams within medical haematology.
The thrombosis treatment team provide a fast track service for patients with suspected deep vein thrombosis (DVT) in an outpatient setting via the urgent treatment centre.
The thrombophilia team provide anticoagulant counselling and monitoring in an outpatient setting.
These nurse-led teams will provide excellent opportunities for learning, audit and professional development.
You will be expected to work independently and as part of a nurse led team providing individualised patient care. The role will include assessing patients for DVT, requesting diagnostic tests, reviewing results, patient education, initiating and monitoring of anticoagulation, and providing compression hosiery.
The thrombosis treatment team provide a 7 day service and you will be required to work a flexible rota including some weekends and bank holidays.
