EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT FAMILY HOLISTIC HSE NHS OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY SOCIAL WORK WEEKEND
The Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dedicated Band 6 Specialist Occupational Therapist to join its Rapid Response Team (RRT)/Urgent Community Response Service (UCR) in Woolwich. This role involves working within a multidisciplinary team to provide urgent community support to residents of Bexley, aiming to respond to crisis situations within two hours, thereby preventing unnecessary hospital admissions. The successful candidate will conduct holistic assessments for individuals over 18 registered with a Bexley GP and contribute to the leadership of the team, including triaging referrals, mentoring junior staff, and participating in multidisciplinary meetings.

Key responsibilities include providing specialist Occupational Therapy assessments, developing individual care plans, and offering advice to clients and their families based on clinical evidence. The role will require maintaining effective communication within the team and with the broader clinical network, ensuring safe and effective client care. The Specialist Occupational Therapist will also play a significant role in promoting functional independence and safety for clients through evidence-based interventions and will be expected to identify when to refer clients to other services as necessary.
