The Head of Nursing for GS-ACT at Ashford & St. Peter's Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in Chertsey is a leadership role aimed at ensuring high standards of clinical care and patient safety within the division, which includes Theatres, Anaesthetic & Critical Care teams, as well as General Surgery and Urology specialties. The successful candidate will support the Divisional Chief Nurse by providing expert leadership, overseeing compliance with CQC standards, and implementing organisation policies. They will be responsible for the professional development of nursing staff, directly manage Specialist Nurses, and play a critical role in enhancing nursing practice and patient experience across the surgical care pathway.

In addition to daily operational management, the Head of Nursing will provide guidance and supervision to junior medical and nursing staff, engage actively with frontline employees, and contribute to the strategic objectives of the division. The role demands collaboration with various stakeholders, including ADO, Specialty Leads, and General Managers, to ensure that GS-ACT services meet the required quality, performance, and financial parameters set by the Trust Board. The position involves not only clinical oversight but also a commitment to continuous improvement, patient safety, and the overall quality agenda within the division.
