We have a well-established PICU ACP training program, alongside a nationally recognised master's academic programme working in collaboration with Middlesex University. GOSH also has a dedicated ACP faculty to embed national education & governance standards. This combined academic & clinical training package will underpin development of the advanced competency-based skills required within the critical care environment:

  • We will fully support you to undertake/complete your master's in Advanced Clinical Practice
  • Develop your advanced clinical skills training, with clinical placements within anaesthetics
  • Work with you to develop expert case management skill

You will be required to

  • Complete & keep logbooks, case reviews & presentations
  • Undertake training in dedicated competencies & capabilities based on standards by the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health
  • Dedicated named Intensivist Consultant & Advanced Clinical Practitioner supervisors
  • Create a personal & professional e-portfolio of your learning continuum
  • Training will cover all 4 pillars of Advanced Clinical Practice
  • You have ability the to develop your resilience, a dynamic, evolving process of positive attitudes and effective strategies
  • We will develop with you a 5-year personal training plan
  • Once you have completed your end point assessment you will transition into a full ACP role with expectations to support a dedicated rota alongside medical colleagues, including nights & weekends
