The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a motivated Band 7 Occupational Therapist to lead an urgent care team in Harlow, focusing on the emergency department, OPAL unit, same-day emergency care, and short stay assessment areas. The role involves providing high-quality therapy assessment and management, working collaboratively with physiotherapy staff and other healthcare professionals, and taking on deputy duties to support the Therapies Manager. Candidates should have prior experience in Occupational Therapy within an acute care setting, as well as experience in emergency departments.

This part-time position (28 hours per week) offers the opportunity to enhance inter-professional skills, manage complex patient presentations, and contribute to service reviews and audits. The Occupational Therapist will also engage in mentoring and supporting both qualified and non-qualified staff, promoting best practices around the Home First approach to patient discharges. Flexibility in working patterns, including weekend work, can be negotiated upon appointment.
