Burdett Coutts Ward is a 15 bedded unit specialising in the care of patients from a variety of tumour groups undergoing different oncology treatments including: Major surgery, chemotherapy and supportive therapies.
As a Registered Nurse, you will have significant experience in Oncology nursing and a commitment to providing high quality specialist care. Your expertise will be backed by a first level degree, a specialist or oncology qualification and appropriate experience in mentoring staff and students. Previous experience in chemotherapy administration would be a bonus.
You will be expected to be responsible for managing a team of nurses within the ward and be responsible for their training and development under the guidance of the Ward sister.

The Senior Staff Nurse is responsible for assisting the Ward Sister / Charge Nurse in the management of the clinical environment and for the management of shifts. At Senior Staff Nurse level, the post holder is required to take responsibility for the management and development of a team of employees under the supervision of the Ward Sister / ChargeNurse.
To coordinate and supervise a shift, communicating effectively with members of a multidisciplinary team to deliver high quality, evidence-led care to patients. To exercise clinical judgment and decision making about patient needs in terms of long term goals or plans. To participate fully in the day to day organisation and running of clinical trials including therecruitment, education and monitoring of patients entering a clinical trial and liaison as required with trial sponsors.
